Periodontal Disease - Gum Disease

Periodontal Diseases are inflammatory disorders resulting in ongoing infections of the gums and bone that gradually destroy the support of your natural teeth. Gum Disease causes your tissues to turn red, swell, and bleed easily. If this irritation is prolonged, the gums and bone separate from the teeth causing pockets (spaces) to deepen. Periodontal Disease damages the teeth, gum, and jaw bone of more than 80 percent of Americans by age 45 and may have negative effects on your general health.
