Meet Dr. Michael Poth
Dr. Michael Poth was born and raised in Oxford, Ohio. He attended Miami University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. Following graduation he attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he graduated Cum Laude. After earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), Dr. Poth entered the United States Air Force where he completed both a General Practice Residency in 1990 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a Residency in Periodontology in 1998 at Lackland Air Force Base. He also earned a Master's of Science Degree in Periodontology from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio that same year. He retired from the Air Force in 2013 after 24 years of service and transitioned into an associate role with Harris Periodontics.
Dr. Poth is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, Ohio Dental Association, and the Dayton Dental Society. He is also active in organized dentistry and has served in leadership roles as the past President of the Ohio Academy of Periodontics, and as the past President of the European Association of Military Periodontists. Dr. Poth has vast teaching experience mentoring over 80 Advanced Education in General Dentistry residents in all aspects of Periodontics during his time with the Air Force. He continues to further his education in part through the Western Ohio Seattle Study Club (a Seattle Study Club Affiliate) as he strives to deliver quality outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Poth is a dedicated husband and father and is active in the lives of his three children. He enjoys sporting activities, exploring the outdoors and making time for travels.
